Love is a gift
a divine gift, a sacred flame.
Love is not stumbled upon by chance,
but a treasure placed in our hearts by God Himself.
We long for it.
We search for it.
We even pray for it.
And when real love finds us, we know.
Because love does not hide.
It does not leave us guessing.
Love does not make us feel small.
Love stands boldly.
It speaks.
It reaches.
And it stays.
Yet some find love, and let it go.
Fear gets in the way.
Doubt clouds the mind.
They push it aside, not realizing its worth.
They walk away from what could have been beautiful.
But those who hold on, who nurture it,
build something unshakable, unbreakable, eternal.
He finds her.
And in her, he discovers something he thought did not exist.
He loves her, not for a fleeting moment,
not for what she does for him,
but for who she is at her very core.
He sees her heart.
He honors her soul.
And he walks beside her as God shapes her into the woman she was meant to be.
Her happiness is his joy.
Her laughter, his reward.
With a grateful heart, he praises her.
He lifts her up in public
and cherishes her in the sacred quiet of their home.
She is his fountain of blessing,
and he drinks deeply, never thirsting elsewhere.
She loves him.
She meets his needs,
not out of duty, but out of devotion.
His strength becomes her strength.
She finds peace in his arms,
and he finds home in her presence.
Together, they release selfishness
so a greater love may rise within them.
They walk in faith.
They delight in grace.
Hand in hand.
Heart to heart.
Soul to soul.
And love, oh, how it shines.
Through their smiles and through their eyes,
a silent language only they understand:
- “I need you.”
- “I am yours.”
- “We belong to each other.”
- “I trust you.”
- “I will protect you.”
With time, they do not merely remain lovers
they become a safe place for one another.
A bond deeper than romance.
A friendship stronger than any storm.
They hold fast to their vow:
to love and cherish unconditionally,
to honor and protect,
to be faithful in all seasons
in joy and in sorrow,
in strength and in weakness.
Their love tells a story.
A story that gives hope to the lonely.
A story that invites hearts to believe again.
A story that proves—beyond doubt—that love still exists.
For love is not meant to hurt.
If it makes you feel small, it is not love.
If it wounds you, it is not love.
If it controls or breaks you down, it is not love.
- Love protects.
- Love waits, willing to wait for the right time and the right season.
- Love uplifts.
- Love rejoices in truth.
- Love trusts, hopes, and never gives up.
- Love holds on and does no harm.
- Love brings out the best in you.
- Love is the greatest force in life.
And how you and I cherish it
determines the beauty of our days.
So if you find love, hold it close.
For love, true love,
is not supposed to hurt.

Hello there. This article is really sweet. It is such a powerful message and a much-needed reminder that true love—especially from a Christian perspective—reflects God’s character. It’s patient, kind, and never rooted in pain or control. Thank you for helping readers understand that real, healthy love lifts us closer to God rather than breaking us down. Oh and you can be a professional poet I think. Anyway, I loved reading this article and I know my wife would love it too so I will have here read it also.
Thank you again for a really lovely article. MAC
